ACCS ready for Columbia Academy challenge

COLUMBIA — While the Adams County Christian School football team has seemingly hit cruise control in recent victories, Rebel head coach David King is prepared for a steep challenge tonight.
“I’m going to tell you this — this team is good enough to beat us,” King said.
The (6-0) Rebels hit the road tonight for a district contest against Columbia Academy. The (4-2) Cougars’ athletic ability has made ACCS players pay closer attention in film sessions than they have in weeks prior.
“They see it on film, and they know we have a lot to overcome (tonight),” King said. “Columbia runs a lot of different sets and a lot of misdirection. They have three really fast backs. Their biggest thing is depth, though, because they don’t have linemen going both ways like we do. That’s a unique advantage at this level. This is a really scary team.”
Another concern for King is his team has not played four full quarters of football since its 27-7 win against Bowling Green on Sept. 4. Actually, that’s the only game this season his starting Rebels have had to play a full four quarters.
“The last couple of games we’ve gotten up a couple of scores, and then we got too comfortable,” King said. “This next month, these four teams will be playing against, we won’t be able to just run up and down the field against these teams. We’ll have to earn our scores from here on out.”
