Ferriday residents selected for leadership program

FERRIDAY — Ferriday residents Emerson Slain and Elijah Banks have been selected to participate in the Building Opportunities through Leadership Development (BOLD) class at the Southern University Agriculture Center.
The BOLD program is a pilot project developed by Southern Univeristy’ Agricultural and Extension Center’s community and economic development office. The program has the goal of improving leadership and economic development capacity of rural Louisiana communities.
Those who participate will be trained how to efficiently and effectively develop leadership roles in their community and how to apply leadership skills and principles in addressing community concerns.
Slain is the president of the Delta Regional Community Development Corporation. Banks serves as an alderman for the Town of Ferriday.
