LORMAN —An article coauthored by Dr. Robert C. Sizemore, Professor at Alcorn State University, has reached a milestone – it has been cited in 100 journal publications, according to ResearchGate, a website that allows researchers to share scientific input and monitors citations.
The article published in 1985 in the Journal of Immunology was titled “Phylogeny of Lymphocyte Heterogeneity: The Cellular Requirements for In Vitro Antibody Responses of Channel Catfish Leucocytes”.
This was a follow up to an earlier publication in the Journal of Immunology where Dr. Sizemore was the first to show that fish have macrophages and that they behaved like their mammalian counterparts.
The article that reached 100 citations showed that macrophages and other immune cells in fish cooperate much like those of mammals in the production of antibody.
