FERRIDAY — Investigators believe a man arrested Sunday on attempted murder charges is connected to a Saturday shooting, but stopped short of saying the man in custody actually pulled the trigger.
Acting Ferriday police chief Margaret Lawrence said Monday evening she did not know the details of what happened during the shooting, which occurred on the corner of Georgia and Seventh streets.
Jarvis Jarman Davis, 24, 609 10th St., was charged Sunday with disturbing the peace and two counts of attempted second-degree murder.
Davis is connected to the shooting, Lawrence said, but when asked if Lawrence was the shooter, Lawrence was uncertain.
“I don’t know,” she said. “(Officers) are still investigating and looking for some more people,” she said.
When asked why officers would charge Davis with attempted murder if they were uncertain Davis was the shooter, Lawrence again said she did not know and deferred comment to the case’s investigator who did not return calls for comment.
