NATCHEZ — Jordan Parker found the back of the net three times, and Karrigan Eidt added two goals of her own as the Adams County Christian School Lady Rebels cruised to a 6-1 victory against district foe Brookhaven Academy.
“Our girls came out on fire and ready to play from the opening whistle,” ACCS head coach Jimmy Allgood said.
It didn’t take long for the Rebels to strike with Parker netting her first goal just three minutes into the game.
“That goal within three minutes from the start set the stage for great play,” Allgood said. “For the first time this season, we communicated as a team, passed, trapped and had many good shots on goal. We were working together as a full unit, all 11 players.”
The Lady Rebels added two more first-half goals, one from Eidt in the 14th minute and another from Katlyn Dillon in the 32nd minute.
The onslaught continued in the second half with Parker adding another goal in the 51st minute and Eidt pushing the lead to 5-0 with a goal in the 63rd.
Brookhaven Academy’s lone goal came in the 65th minute, but Parker quickly answered by finishing off her hat trick in the 71st minute.
“What was working for (Parker) was the unselfish play of the rest of her teammates feeding her the ball,” Allgood said. “Karrigan Eidt fed her multiple times with passes and through balls.”
Next up for ACCS is a showdown with powerhouse Laurel Christian, a team the Lady Rebels defeated for the first time in program history earlier this season.
“Our girls are going to have to remain staying focused,” Allgood said. “If the girls come out and do what I know they can do and play at that level, it could be anybody’s match. If we beat Laurel Christian again going into the second half of district play, we could be in the driver’s seat going into the playoffs.”
