Football, youth conference approaching

NATCHEZ — Football, fellowship and civic duty are on the menu this weekend.
The weekend may be off to a wet start, with clouds on Friday and a prediction of a thunderstorm. Temperatures are expected to reach a high of 87 with a low of 73.
Thunder may continue into the rest of the weekend, with a chance of thunderstorms on Saturday and Sunday. Saturday’s high is forecasted to be 90, with a low of 73.
Sunday’s temperatures should reach a high of 91, with a low of 73.
New Hope The Vision Center 2015 Youth Conference
The New Hope The Vision Center’s 2015 Youth Conference begins at 7 p.m. today, continuing on Friday at the same time.
The theme of the conference is “Breaking Free: Knowing Who You Are In Christ.”
“We have an international speaker/songwriter Jekalyn Carr,” Stanley Searcy II, youth pastor at New Hope The Vision Center, said. “She’s going to be with us bringing hope and encouragement to the kids.”
The event is free to the public.

Football
Three Natchez teams will be gearing up to toss the pigskin around Friday.
Cathedral will be playing at home against rival St. Aloysius at 7 p.m. Trinity fans will also be able to stay in Natchez for the team’s home game against Silliman, also at 7 p.m.
Bulldog fans will have to travel a little further as Natchez High School’s football team will have an away game at Wilkinson County High School at 7 p.m.
August primary runoff absentee voting
Saturday is the last day to absentee vote in person for Tuesday’s runoff election.
Absentee voting will be available at the Adams County Circuit Clerk’s Office from 8 a.m. until noon.
The races in the runoff election are the races for sheriff, District 5 supervisor, chancery clerk and the northern and southern district constable.
