VIDALIA — The Miss-Lou Youth Soccer league and Natchez Youth Soccer Organization are joining forces.
“I don’t think anybody wanted to take the reins in Natchez,” league director Mike Bowlin said. “The Morgantown fields are so old and outdated, and we felt like we could come over here and play. We have a new complex, new goals and a concession stand available. We hate for Natchez to have to travel, but we have updated facilities.”
Bowlin said the Vidalia league had 20 teams last year while the Natchez league had around 13, so he expects the new league to have 30-35 teams.
“We’ll have four fields maybe five to play on behind Wal-Mart,” he said. “We need coaches and sponsors as well.”
The league is for children 3-years-old to 16-years-old determined by age on September 1, 2015.
The registration fee for the league is $70, which includes a jersey, socks, shin guards, league insurance, a medal and team pictures.
Bowlin said the league will officially start the first week of September.
