Concordia Parish Library “American Sniper Series”
Today the Vidalia Library is sponsoring the second and final part of the “American Sniper Series: The Chris Kyle Story: Protecting Troops — One Shot, One Kill.”
Georgiann Potts, retired professor from the University of Louisiana at Monroe, will lead the event,
“The book the scholar is talking about is the autobiography of Chris Kyle,” Amanda Taylor, library director for Concordia Parish, said.
Kyle was a United States Navy Seal and the most lethal sniper in U.S. military history. Kyle’s autobiography inspired the movie “American Sniper.”
While the session covers the reading of the autobiography, attendees do not have to read the book to come and learn more about Kyle’s life and career.
“It’s really about the snipers and the role they play in the military,” Taylor said.
The free event will take place from 6-8 p.m. at the library.
