RIDGECREST — A teenager was arrested on attempted murder charges this weekend after allegedly shooting at some of his four co-defendants in a gun store burglary.
The five suspects have since been arrested in connection with the Thursday theft of nine guns and several boxes of ammunition from Old River Guns in Ridgecrest, said Vernon Stevens, the Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office public information officer,
Stevens said the juvenile who was charged with attempted second-degree murder allegedly fired a shot at the other suspects during an argument.
“I guess they were arguing amongst themselves,” Stevens said.
The only name released in connection with the incident was Earl Day III, 17, of 111 Brooks St., Ferriday.
Day, who is being charged as an adult, was booked Friday on charges of aggravated burglary, criminal trespass and obstruction of justice.
Deputies were able to recover five guns and the ammunition by Monday.
No serious injuries resulted from the incident.
Stevens said other arrests in connection with the incident may follow, and anyone with information about the crime can call the Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office at 318-336-5231.
