Write to support U.S. space program

If you are going to colonize Mars, do it right.
A company recently asked for volunteers to travel to Mars in order to colonize the Red Planet with Earthlings. But after a seven-month-long trip and landing on Mars, they could only expect to live for 68 days and could never return to Earth. This is a fool’s errand!
It’s a plan to colonize Mars with suicidal dead Earthlings. People running that company ought to be ashamed of themselves. Obviously, they are looking for fame and fortune.
In fact, it would be comical, if it wasn’t for the fact that so many people seemed to think it was acceptable and volunteered for it.
Some day, when technology has advanced much further than it has at present, serious people will plan to travel to Mars, first to explore, than to set up a base of operations, and perhaps, eventually, to possibly station scientists, geologists, all kinds of engineers, and others needed to determine if it would ever be possible for Earthlings to live indefinitely on Mars.
For the time being, it would make more sense to set up a colony on the Moon. It would be a learning experience for more difficult colonizing efforts.
For those of you who support a space program – please write to your Congressman.
Currently, not much is going on at NASA, which is a shame, because when NASA is active, all kinds of technology is advanced for the good of mankind. The current administration doesn’t think that is important.
