VIDALIA — Vidalia Mayor Hyram Copeland and the Vidalia Board of Alderman recently signed an agreement with the AirMedCare Network, which AirEvac officials say will provide the city’s residents with peace of mind when it comes to air medical service.
Rhonda Stevens, membership sales manager for the Natchez Air Evac Lifeteam base, said the Vidalia mayor and board of alderman made it possible for every family to receive an Air Evac membership. Stevens and Membership Sales Manager Sherry Eidt from the Rayville, La., Air Evac base worked together to help this plan come to fruition.
If Vidalia residents with Air Evac memberships are flown for a life-or-limb threatening emergency by Air Evac Lifeteam from Concordia or Catahoula Parish in Louisiana, or Adams County in Mississippi, they are covered by the Air Evac Lifeteam membership.
For a $35 upgrade fee, families living in Vidalia would be covered no matter where their Air Evac Lifeteam flight originates. Because Air Evac Lifeteam is part of the AirMedCare Network, residents are covered by more than 220 bases in 28 states.
Copeland said he and the board of alderman are committed to the people of Vidalia.
“The Board of Alderman and myself feel very fortunate to be able to give something back to them,” Copeland said. “When Vidalia prospers, our people reap the benefits.”
Air Evac Lifeteam has a base in Rayville, La., and Natchez, Miss., and a total of 118 bases in 15 states.
