Lean on God through troubled times

The Union Baptist Church Missionary Society was back on the road with outreach programs after a week of tumultuous weather.
Director Evangelist Banks and Pastor Carl A. Smith, along with eight members of the society, met at the home of Sis. Annie Mae Washington Saturday afternoon.
We were greeted with much love. After talking for about 15 minutes, we discussed our lessons for the month of February, encouraged Sis. Washington to be patient, forgiving, obedient, have faith and put your trust in God.
No matter how bad your situation may seem, remember God said he would never leave you nor forsake you.
All of us go through things in life that cause us to be depressed. Yet we must remember to take our cares to the Lord and leave them there. Also, we all have a calling in our life.
We respond to the call not by making excuses but turning to God, asking for strength to do his will. We will be rewarded eternally if we keep the faith and obey.
At the end of our discussion, Sis. Jennifer Banks and other members presented Sis. Washington with a lovely fruit basket.
Our meeting was adjourned with song and prayer by the Rev. Carl Smith.
