Cook joins The Natchez Democrat’s news team

NATCHEZ — Sarah Cook has joined The Natchez Democrat’s news team as a reporter.

A native of Bucks County, Pa., Cook graduated from Auburn University with a bachelor of arts degree in journalism in 2012.

Her previous work experience includes stints as general assignment reporter at the Selma Times-Journal, editorial assistant for Cooking With Paula Deen magazine and assistant editor of Southern Lady magazine.

Previous professional accolades Cook has received include first place for best spot news photo and third place for best business story or column in the 2014 Alabama Press Association Better Newspaper Contest and second place for best photo essay in the 2013 Alabama Press Association Better Newspaper Contest.

Cook resides in Natchez and attends Jefferson Street United Methodist Church.
