MCCOMB (AP) — State Sen. Kelvin Butler of McComb says he will run for Pike County chancery clerk rather than for a fourth term in the Legislature.
Butler, a Democrat, will be running for the office being vacated by incumbent Doug Touchstone. The new term begins in January.
Butler said that he wants to serve in public office closer to home.
