Eola has much to offer city, region

My wife and I are very sad to learn of the closing of the Natchez Eola Hotel.
We have visited Natchez numerous times over the past several years, always staying at the Eola because of its location and historic significance.
We are aware that it has lost a good deal of its luster, but not its charm.
We implore the new owner to consider maintaining the Eola as a hotel and making it a real showplace.
This is Natchez’s opportunity to capitalize on its history, as did the Gulf Coast with the successful renovation of the White House Hotel, and in New Orleans, the Roosevelt Hotel.
We hope that Robert Lubin has the vision, as we do, to see the positive impact for Natchez in preserving this icon as a hotel.
