Adams County Justice Court Cases

Jan. 2-8:

Christopher Braley pleaded guilty to simple assault. Braley also pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance. Braley also pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance. Braley also pleaded guilty to domestic violence.

Jimmy McLaurin pleaded guilty to trespassing less than larceny.

Quantange Shorter charged with possession of a controlled substance. Case bound over to a grand jury.

Steven Marsaw charged with grand larceny. Case bound over to a grand jury.

Calvin Perry charged with grand larceny. Case bound over to a grand jury.

Melissa O’Mara charged with illegal use of credit cards. Case bound over to a grand jury. O’Mara was also charged with grand larceny. Case bound over to a grand jury.

O’Mara was also charged with burglary of an occupied dwelling. Case bound over to a grand jury.

 

Adams County Circuit Court Cases

Thursday, Jan. 8:

Marlon Demond Frye pleaded guilty to possession of stolen property (counts I and II) in Judge Lillie Blackmon Sanders’ court. Sentenced to five years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections on each count concurrently. After serving one day of five-year sentence, the defendant is placed on five years formal post-release supervision, which shall be supervised under the supervision of the MDOC. Must pay all court costs and fees in the amount of $422.50 and a prosecution fee of $200 in the office of the Adams County Circuit Clerk. Count III (possession of stolen property) is dismissed.

Cardreeka D. Mason pleaded guilty to misdemeanor uttering a forgery in Sanders’ court. Sentenced to six months in the county jail (suspended); Placed on one year unsupervised probation; Immediately pay restitution in the amount of $491.14; and immediately pay all court costs.

Lonnie Armstead pleaded guilty to child fondling in Sanders’ court. Sentenced to 10 years in the custody of MDOC. Upon release, the defendant must register as a sexual offender according to the guidelines ordered by law.

William Ryan Magee pleaded guilty to armed robbery (count I) and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon (count II) in Sanders’ court. Sentenced to 20 years in the custody of MDOC on count I and five years on count II. The 25-year sentence shall run consecutively on counts I and II.

Travis Razelle Cade pleaded guilty to armed robbery in Judge Sanders’ court. Sentenced to 10 years in MDOC. After serving five years, the defendant is placed on five years formal post-release supervision, which shall be supervised under the supervision of the MDOC. Must pay all court costs and fees in the amount of $422.50 and prosecution fees of $200 in the office of the Adams County Circuit Clerk.

 

Natchez Municipal Court Cases

Monday, Dec. 22, 2014:

Tiera Turner, 20, charged with possession of a controlled substance. Case dismissed on motion of defendant’s attorney and prosecutor. Substance tested negative for marijuana.

Janesia Albert, 20, charged with possession of a controlled substance. Case dismissed on motion of defendant’s attorney and prosecutor. Substance tested negative for marijuana.

Clifton Lamar Hoggatt, 49, found guilty of possession of drug paraphernalia. Driver’s license suspended for six months. Fine set at $518.

Shameka R. McMorris, 35, charged with disorderly conduct — failure to comply with officer. Case dismissed — she has been committed.

James Randall Washington, 50, pleaded guilty to simple assault. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Fine set at $523.

Tuesday, Dec. 23:

Louis Clay Evans, 25, found guilty of misdemeanor embezzlement. Sentenced to 60 days with 57 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Credit given for three days served. Fine set at $450. Restitution set at $100 to be paid to Solar Bay Window. Bond set at $1,000.

Melaney Banks, 38, charged with attempt to obtain controlled substance by forgery. Waived preliminary hearing. Case bound over to a grand jury. Bond set at $5,000. Banks was also charged with obtaining a controlled substance by fraud. Waived preliminary hearing. Case bound over to a grand jury. Bond set at $5,000. Banks was also  charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent. Waived preliminary hearing. Case bound over to a grand jury. Bond set at $7,500.

Jennifer Skipper Spradely, 36, charged with obtaining a controlled substance by fraud. Waived preliminary hearing. Case bound over to a grand jury. Bond set at $5,000. Spradley was also charged with attempt to obtain controlled substance by forgery. Waived preliminary hearing. Case bound over to a grand jury. Bond set at $5,000. Spradely was also charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent. Waived preliminary hearing. Case bound over to a grand jury. Bond set at $7,500.

Steven Moore, 30, charged with shoplifting — over $1,000 (felony). Waived preliminary hearing. Case bound over to a grand jury. Bond set at $13,300.

Brandon Hayes, 21, charged with shoplifting — over $1,000 (felony). Waived preliminary hearing. Case bound over to a grand jury. Bond set at $13,300.

Kelvin D. Jones, 34, charged with possession or carrying a concealed weapon by a convicted felon. Waived preliminary hearing. Case bound over to a grand jury. Bond set at $10,000.

Vanisha Grinnell charged with uttering a forgery. Waived preliminary hearing. Case bound over to a grand jury.

 

Monday, Dec. 29:

Alice Williams, 57, pleaded guilty to three counts of misdemeanor false pretense. Total fine set at $1,128.70.

William Harrington pleaded guilty to public drunkenness. Sentenced to six days in jail. No fines assessed.

Ronneria Smith pleaded guilty to shoplifting – 1st offense. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Banned from store. Fine set at $573.

 

Wednesday, Dec. 31:

Teancity Brooks, 24, pleaded no contest to shoplifting – 1st offense. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Banned from Belk. Fine set at $573.

Davion J. Bradley pleaded guilty to simple assault – domestic violence. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Fine set at $623.

 

Monday, Jan. 5, 2015:

Destiney Kennedy, 19, pleaded guilty to shoplifting – 1st offense. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Banned from all Walmart locations. Fine set at $573.

Deavon Warner, 30, pleaded guilty to shoplifting – 1st offense. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Banned from all Walmart locations. Fine set at $783.

Ricky Potters, 59, pleaded guilty to shoplifting – 1st offense. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Banned from Belk. Fine set at $800.

Joshua Henry Rose, 22, charged with shoplifting – 1st offense. Case remanded to files – co-defendant took responsibility.

Kendrick Deon Williams, 22, pleaded guilty to shoplifting – 1st offense. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Banned from all Walmart locations. Fine set at $573.

Sheldon Donald Jr. pleaded guilty to simple assault – domestic violence. Sentenced to 30 days with 27 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Credit given for three days served. Fine set at $623.

Wednesday, Jan. 7:

Crystal M. Holmes, 27, found guilty of disturbing the peace by fighting. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Fine set at $395.

Jererica D. Scott, 25, pleaded guilty to disturbing the peace by fighting. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Fine set at $373.

Eric S. Laprairie, 25, pleaded guilty to shoplifting – 1st offense. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Banned from all Walmart locations. Fine set at $643.
