Wilkinson work center escapee captured

WOODVILLE (AP) — The Mississippi Department of Corrections says Jeffery McWhorter, who escaped from the Wilkinson County Community Work Center in Woodville, has been captured.
Corrections officials say he was captured early Friday morning in the Woodville area. McWhorter was discovered missing around 4:30 p.m. Thursday.
The 20-year-old McWhorter was serving a two-year sentence for a conviction of burglary from Marion County. McWhorter will be transported to Central Mississippi Correctional Facility in Rankin County and now faces an additional 5-year sentence if convicted of escape.
