NATCHEZ —A Christmas gala will end a month full of holiday events this weekend.
Sunny skies are expected today, with rain and thunderstorms in the forecast for the weekend.
Monica’s Hope first Pink Christmas Gala
Monica’s Hope will host its first Pink Christmas Gala for cancer at 6 p.m. Saturday at the House on Ellicott’s Hill, located on 211 North Canal St., in downtown Natchez.
The Pink Christmas Gala will honor cancer survivors and those who may have lost their battle to cancer, said Monica’s Hope organizer and cancer survivor Monica Smith.
“Cancer has affected everyone in some way or another,” Smith said. “I want to show support for the people who may be fighting that battle or have fought that battle in the past.”
The gala is a semi-formal event and will include dinner for those who attend.
The gala will feature two guest speakers, including Meg Freeman, a breast cancer survivor and organizer of Team Tatas and Beverly Love, a local physician.
Tickets are $20 and can be purchased by contacting Smith at 601-443-7998.
All proceeds will go toward Monica’s Hope to help fund mammograms and pay for traveling expenses for cancer patients.
