Hines graduates basic combat training in Georgia

FORT BENNING, Ga. — Army Pfc. DeAndre Hines has graduated basic combat training at Fort Benning, Ga.
During the nine-week training period, the trainee received instruction in drill and ceremony, weapons, rifle marksmanship and bayonet training.
He was also trained in chemical warfare, field training and tactical exercises, as well as armed and unarmed combat, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness and first aid.The training also included courses in Army history, traditions and core values.
Hines is the son of Katrina D. Perkins of Lithonia, Ga., and grandson of Ruthie M. Perkins of Smithdale and Sonja J. Hines of Decatur, Ga.
He is a 2014 graduate of Amite County High School in Liberty.
