Fresh off an appearance in the MAIS AA State Championship game, the Adams County Christian School Rebels will begin to gear up for some new competition next year as the school prepares to make the jump from Class AA to Class AAA.
“Essentially AA is going to be revamped,” ACCS defensive coordinator Richy Spears said. “There will be a lot of the same teams, but some of the bigger schools will move down.”
Even though some of the opponents ACCS will face will remain the same, Spears said there is still plenty to worry about.
“We are going to have the same people we have had like Centreville and Silliman,” he said. “And some of these lower AAA schools, like Starkville are moving down. There is a lot to worry about.”
Spears said he has an idea of who will be in the Rebels’ district come next season, but nothing has been set in stone yet.
“We’ve got an idea, but it won’t be set until the next meeting sometime next month,” he said. “There are people appealing and different things like that.”
