McCalip earns graduate degree

HAMMOND, La. — Meagan Elizabeth McCalip recently graduated from Southeastern State University with a masters degree in education.
The 60-hour program concentrated in the field of counseling. While at Southeastern, McCalip served as a graduate assistant in the counseling program and was inducted into Chi Sigma Iota, the honor society for graduate students. She was also on the president’s list every semester. While at SELU, she was asked by the president of the American Counseling Association to co-present a program on multi-cultural counseling at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, and she also made other college presentations on substance abuse and other areas of counseling.
McCalip was an honor graduate at Cathedral High School and was on the dean’s list at Mississippi State University.She is employed by Spectrum Rehab Services in Denham Springs, and is presently working on the licensed professional counseling designation. McCalip is the daughter of Conn and Shannan McCalip of Natchez and the granddaughter of Gwen S. McCalip and the late Kenneth McCalip of Natchez and Elizabeth and George Rushing of Meadville.
