Other reimbursements
Grennell and Hutchins both claimed $318.66 in mileage for traveling all of the roads of Adams County, a state mandate for all county supervisors.
“I don’t have a county vehicle, and when I travel the roads I am putting wear and tear on my vehicle,” Hutchins said. “But I ride my roads to see if they are in good condition, which ones need paving and striping.”
Grennell likewise cited wear and tear on vehicles as why he chooses to claim mileage.
Murray claimed mileage for four out-of-town work-related trips, including an educational session, totaling $407.75. He also claimed $82 in meals and $16.40 in tips
Other reimbursements Hutchins claimed included:
• $173 in meals and mileage for a trip to the Mississippi Development Bank to discuss Natchez Regional Medical Center’s bankruptcy.
• $179.12 in meals, mileage and tips for a Workforce Readiness board meeting in Jackson. Hutchins is on the board.
• $144.64 for a meeting in Raymond.
Other expenses Grennell claimed included:
• $89.60 for an overnight stay for a meeting of the Mississippi Department of Archives and History in Jackson. Grennell is on the state bicentennial commission.
• $260.19 for hotel, meals, mileage and tips related to a meeting at the state Capitol Aug. 1. Grennell said the meeting was dealing with the NRMC bankruptcy.
• $13.99 in mileage for a trip to Jackson. The reimbursement filing notes it was for a previous reimbursement that was short.
• $130.38 in meals and mileage for a round trip that included a meeting in Jackson and a stop at the offices of Southwest Mississippi Planning and Development in Meadville.
Grennell said the Jackson meeting was to discuss potential changes to how counties handle insurance with other MAS representatives, and the Adams County board had requested he attend.
Butler, Carter, Lazarus and Slover claimed no mileage, meals or tips except in relation to the conferences they attended.
