Lighthouse would be pleasant on bluff

Concerning Sunday’s opinion article about the best use of the city’s recently secured land between Broadway Street and the bluff, may I make a suggestion?
From 1828 to 1840, Natchez had a lighthouse on the bluff near that site.
It was relatively short since it was already on the bluff, but it offered a clear night guide for river travelers to make a safe landing after rounding the bend of the river near the Devil’s Punchbowl.
A good replica would be a great attraction by offering a circular stairway to a view from it’s top, and it could include a light that could be visible each night from all around Natchez.
If it didn’t cost too much, we could enjoy a wonderful new attraction for tourists and Natchezians.
Looking forward to further improvements to our wonderful bluff.
