NATCHEZ — Adams County Sheriff Chuck Mayfield recently announced Deputy Walter Mackel recently completed a first responder class.

The class included instruction on emergency assessment and treatment of airway, circulation, bleeding and soft tissue injuries, muscle and bone injuries and child birth.

Mayfield said he plans to have Mackel and ACSO Investigator Michelle Nations certified as cardio pulmonary recussitation instructors in order to train and update all deputies in CPR.
