Hardware group buys fifth Georgia store

NATCHEZ — Central Network Retail Group announced Wednesday the addition of Hiawassee Hardware of Hiawassee, Ga., to its portfolio of stores.
The transaction was completed Oct. 1.
The store sells a full assortmentof lumber, hardware, plumbing, electrical, tools, paint and lawn and garden supplies serving both do-it-yourself and professional customers. CNRG will convert the store from Ace to Orgill, introducing some new categories of product, working to improve assortments and merchandising, and implementing new computer systems.
“We are excited about the addition of Hiawassee Hardware to our team in Georgia,” said Jimmy R. Smith, chairman of CNRG. “With this acquisition we now operate five stores in Georgia .”
Boyden Moore, president of CNRG said Hiawassee Hardware is a great fit with the company’s overall strategy.
“Dan and his team have built great relationships with their customers over the years,” Moore said. “We are excited to invest in this opportunity and help improve Hiawassee Hardware’s ability to take care of their customers’ needs. This will be a great example of the synergy that CNRG was designed to create.”
CNRG currently operates 47 home centers, hardware stores, and lumberyards in nine states under eleven different brands.
