CPSO investigating homicide after body found in Monterey

MONTEREY — The Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating a possible homicide after a body of a Monterey man was found Monday.
The body, which has not been positively identified, was discovered in the yard of an Eloise Road house in Monterey at approximately 11:30 a.m. Monday.
CPSO Chief Deputy David Hedrick said an autopsy is scheduled today at the Louisiana Forensics Center in Lafayette.
The sheriff’s office is treating the case as a homicide. Hedrick said he could not yet release further details of the case.
Hedrick said an alert was issued on a 2014 black Ford Fusion that may be a point of interest in the investigation. The vehicle has a Louisiana handicapped license plate No. 325389.
Concordia Parish Sheriff Kenneth Hedrick said increased patrols were ordered in the Monterey area for the safety of residents until a suspect in the case is identified and apprehended.
