NATCHEZ — Jake Martin has been promoted to the position of sports editor at The Natchez Democrat.

Martin will continue, in his new role, to cover local and regional sports, but will expand his work into other areas of the newspaper as well.

Martin is a Vidalia native, who graduated from Vidalia High School in 2009. He graduated from Nicholls State University in 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in mass communication.

His previous media experience includes reporting for The Concordia Sentinel and The (Biloxi) Sun Herald newspapers and sports websites BleacherReport.com and DandyDon.com

During his free time, Martin enjoys watching sports and Netflix, along with spending time with friends and family. He is a member of First Baptist Church of Vidalia.
