NATCHEZ — Services for Steve “Bo” Johnson Jr., 82, of Natchez, who died Monday, Aug. 4, 2014, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Milford Baptist Church with the Rev. Willie Johnson officiating.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mr. Johnson was born Dec. 18, 1931, in Adams County, the son of Steve and Charlotte Lee Johnson Sr.
He was a member of Christ Temple Apostolic Church in Bude.
He was employed by Bethlehem Healing Temple in Chicago, as a maintenance worker until his retirement.
Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Artis LaRon; seven brothers, Sylvester, Percy, Steve Jr., Davie, Jack, McAurther and Elver; and 5 sisters, Ailean, Celia, Katie, Pearline and Flora Mae.
Survivors include his loving wife of 57 years, Bertha Rice Johnson; two sons, Keith Johnson and wife, Pat, and Steve Johnson and wife, Lisa, of Chicago; one daughter, Linda; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; mother-in-law, Marie Rice; two brothers, the Rev. Willie Johnson and wife, Judy, of Bude, and Joe Johnson and wife, Regina, of Roxie; three sisters, Sarah Howard of New Orleans, Eloise Tucker and husband, Lee, of Chicago, and Matilda Johnson, of Natchez; one godson, Percy Rice of Natchez; special niece, Doris Lee of Chicago; and a number of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends who will cherish his unforgettable memories.
