DOLOROSO — Services for Velma McMorris, 57, of Doloroso, who died Tuesday, July 22, 2014, at her residence, will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Free Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. George Norflin officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Ms. McMorris was born Jan. 14, 1957, in Natchez, the daughter of Willie and Ardenia Webb McMorris.

She was a prison guard.

Ms. McMorris was preceded in death by her mother.

Survivors include her father; one son, Jonathan McMorris of Doloroso; one brother, Ronnie Galmore of Chicago; two sisters, Sharon McMorris of Doloroso and Shara Smith of St. Paul, Minn.; three grandchildren, Taylor Harris, Jakerryia Harris and Jonathan McMorris Jr., all of Doloroso; and a number of nephews, nieces and cousins.
