NATCHEZ — Graveside services for Wayne Campbell, 73, of Fayette, who died Sunday, July 13, 2014, at his residence, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. James Cason officiating.
Burial will follow in the cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from noon until 1:45 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Mr. Campbell was born March 27, 1941, in Franklin County, the son of Pearly Luther Campbell and Dolly Arnold Campbell.
He was a member of the Church of God in Bude and Cranfield Baptist Church.
He was a retired chief engineer of Canal Barge Line.
He was an avid deer hunter and loved fishing.
Mr. Campbell was preceded in death by five brothers, James Campbell, Jessie Campbell, Marion Campbell, Leslie Campbell and Luke Campbell; two sisters, Geraldine Harrison and Myrtle Pell.
Survivors include one daughter, Suzette Campbell of Natchez; two sisters, Agnes Tingle of Grayson, and Rena Thorpe of Natchez; and a number of nephews and nieces.
Pallbearers will be Melvin Campbell, Johnathan Campbell, James Campbell, Bill Campbell, Jimmy Pell and Jimmy Wilkinson.
