EDDICETON — Services for Peyton E. Godbold Jr., 77, of McCall Creek, who died Thursday, July 10, 2014, at his residence, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Eddicton Baptist Church.

Burial will follow in Eddiceton Cemetery under the direction of Franklin Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the church.

Mr. Godbold was born Dec. 13, 1936, in Franklin County, the son of Peyton Earl Godbold Sr. and Mattie Evans Godbold.

He was a member of Eddiceton Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon for many years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He loved his grandchildren and loved watching westerns on TV.

Mr. Godbold was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara White Godbold; two daughters, Janet Godbold Spring and husband, David, and Cathy Godbold Perkins and husband, Larry; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Charles and Phillip Godbold.

Pallbearers will be Anthony Steele, Todd Spring, John Perkins, Curt Fussell, Larry Perkins and David Spring.

Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
