NATCHEZ — A Natchez teen was arrested Tuesday for reportedly having sex with an underage girl.

Ladarius S. Bernard, 18, 201 Lumber St., Apt. 402, was charged with statutory rape, said Natchez Police Detective Jerry Ford.

The victim was reportedly spending the night with a friend related to Bernard when the rape happened.

Ford said Bernard went into the room the girl was sleeping, and Bernard claims the girl told him she was 15.

“Which doesn’t matter, because she is still a juvenile,” Ford said.

Bernard claims the girl asked him to have sex so he did.

Bernard was being held without bond in the Natchez City Jail Tuesday evening.
