NATCHEZ — Services for John Ford McCall, 76, of Natchez, who died Monday, June 2, 2014, at his residence, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church in Natchez with the Rev. Doug Broome officiating.
Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church.
Mr. McCall was born July 19, 1937, in Jena, the son of Pollard Ford McCall and Nellie Mae Warner McCall.
He was a member of First Baptist Church since 1957, where he served as deacon.
He was a member of Natchez Masonic Bodies, past Master of the Harmony Lodge, past president of the Natchez Shrine Club and was a member of the board of directors of the Old South Federal Credit Union.
He retired from International Paper Company after 46 years of service.
Mr. McCall was preceded in death by his parents; and his paternal and maternal grandparents.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Eddy Kay Knox McCall; two daughters, Connie McCall Chapin and husband, Randy, of Gallman, and Kim McCall Thomas and husband, Lee, of Natchez; four grandchildren, Garrett Chapin, Connor Chapin, Lauren Thomas and Luke Thomas; three sisters, Mildred Wheeler, Edra Daniels and husband, Sonny, and Peggy McCall, all of Natchez; and a number of nephews and nieces.
Pallbearers will be Brody Coleman, Darin Doughty, Glenn Harrison, Bryant Murray, Alton Roberts and Doug McCallister.
Honorary pallbearers will be Old South Credit Union Board of Directors and members of Buck Island Hunting Club.
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of St. Dominic’s Hospital of Jackson, the staff of Promise Hospital of Vidalia and Deaconess Hospice. An extra special thank you to Carrie, Helen and Mildred.
