JENA — Graveside services for James Claudie Skipper Jr., 56, of Columbia, who died Sunday, June 1, 2014, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Whitehall Pentecostal Church with the Rev. Joey Paul officiating.
Burial will follow in Legion Memorial Cemetery in Newellton under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
Mr. Skipper was born June 11, 2014, in Seminole, Texas, the son of James Skipper Sr. and Lanell Skipper.
He was a resident of Columbia and member of Whitehall Pentecostal Church.
He was a driller for Viking Drilling International.
Mr. Skipper was preceded in death by his father; infant daughter, Angel Shea Skipper; two brothers, Bobby Skipper and Jerry Don Skipper; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Luther Skipper; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Lisenbee; and one nephew, Justin Skipper.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Skipper; his mother; one daughter, April Skinner and fiance, Darron Johnson, of Olla; and a number of nephews and nieces.
Pallbearers will be Darron Johnson, Roy Spivey, Joe Wallace, Larry Wayne Atkins, Jermey Wallace, Scott Page, Roy Skipper, Mike Ainsworth, Daniel Roark and Travis Skipper.
