VIDALIA — Memorial services for Michael Renn Brasher, 27, of Vidalia, who died Sunday, May 25, 2014, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Young’s Funeral Home in Vidalia with the Rev. Dillon Wickliffe officiating.

Services will be under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from noon until service time Friday at the funeral home.

Mr. Brasher was born Sept. 29, 1986, in Natchez, the son of Don and Sherri Brasher.

He was a resident of Vidalia and a member of Parkway Baptist Church.

He was a 2005 graduate of Vidalia High School and attended Louisiana Tech University and LSU Baton Rouge.

He was a lab technician with Louisiana Elastomer, an AmeriCorps’ City Year of Louisiana alumnus, a member of the Leave No Trace nature conservation effort and a team member of Myth Paintball and Team Abbeys Paintball.

Mr. Brasher was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Hayden and Hildridge Burch; and paternal great-grandparents, Woodrow and Cathaleen Duncan.

Survivors include his parents; one brother, Russ Brasher of Ruston, paternal grandparents, T.E. and Ann Brasher, of Vidalia; soulmate and love of his life, Ginger Clements of Lisbon; one uncle, Eddy Burch and wife, Zhanell, of Denton, Texas; two aunts, Debbie Watson and husband, Ronnie, of Springhill, and Joy Haley of Corinth, Texas; one great uncle, Neal Duncan and wife, Peggy, of West Monroe; two great aunts Irma Holland and husband, Clark, of Sulphur and Ima Jean Owens and husband, Carl, of Monroe; cousins, Casey Watson and wife, Kristal, of Springhill, Amy Bordovsky and husband, Jon, of Pasadena, Texas, Darcy Heard and husband, Justin, of League City, Texas, and Brennan Burch of Pearland, Texas; special friends, Jerry and Daphne Clements; mentors, Jerry Sweat, Dix Houghton and Dennis Ezell; and a number of family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to City Year of Louisiana, to a library or community garden, humane society or charity of your choice.
