NATCHEZ — A Natchez man, who had been on life support following a shooting earlier this month, died Tuesday in Jackson.
Peter Jones III, 31, was shot at least three times May 18 at approximately 5 a.m. at a nightclub near the intersection of Steam Plant and Green Acres roads in Natchez.
Jones suffered various wounds, including one to his stomach, and was transported to the University of Medical Center in Jackson where he was put on life support.
Jones died from the injuries, Adams County Coroner James Lee said.
Marvin Antony Watson, 49, 230 Country Club Drive, turned himself into authorities the same day of the shooting and was charged with attempted murder.
Justice Court Judge Charlie Vess said he would have a hearing today to upgrade Watson’s charge to murder.
Adams County Sheriff Chuck Mayfield said at the time of the shooting he had not determined a motive of the shooting.
Mayfield said Tuesday the case was still under investigation and witnesses were still being questioned to determine more information about the incident.
Witnesses reported at least four shots were fired.
