NATCHEZ — Services for Birtteel Dixon Gilmore, 72, of Ferriday, who died Friday, March 23, 2014, at the Passages Hospice in New Orleans, will be at 10:30 a.m. today at Church of God on Third Street in Ferriday with the Rev. Leonard Posey officiating.

Burial will follow in Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home.

Mrs. Gilmore was born March 3, 1942, in Eva, La., the daughter of Henry and Mayola Luss Dixon.

Mrs. Gilmore was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Gilmore; her parents; and one sister, Beckie Dixon Clark.

Survivors include two sons, Robert Gilmore and wife, Tanya, and Derrick Johnson and wife, Valerie, all of Slidell; two daughters, Rochell Gilmore and Kimberly Jackson, both of New Orleans; four brothers, Henry Dixon and wife, Mattie Sue, Charlie Dixon and wife, Yvonne, all of Alexandria, L.B. Dixon of Ferriday and Tommie Bell of Shreveport; two sisters, Cynthia D. Bethley of Chicago, and Ola Mae Murphy of Alexandria, Va.; three grandchildren; two aunts, Bernice Dixon and Cressie Dixon both of Ferriday; and a number of nephews, nieces and cousins.
