It is important for young people to know another language, whether because they will take classes on it in the future or simply to understand another culture better. Shannon Rojo offers two courses of Spanish, one for beginners, “Hola Amigos,” in first and second grade and a more advanced course, “Hola Amigos II,” for third through fifth graders. These are opportunities to learn the basics of both spelling and speaking Spanish, all in a fun and relaxing environment. The first and second grade class begins June 9 and ends June 12, while the third through fifth grade class begins June 16 and ends June 19.

Anne Marie Bailey is back again offering arts and crafts classes for kids for all ages. For first and second graders, their class covers a range of different projects, while the third to fifth grade group will have a theme that goes through all four classes. The first and second grade course begins June 16 and ends June 19, while the third through fifth grade timeframe is July 7 through July 10.

Do you want to get your kids from the couch to movin’ and shakin’ in the coming months? We have the answer . . . “Zumbatomic!” Just like last summer, Shannon Doughty is bringing back her fun and intense Zumba fitness class for ages six and up. This fusion of the Zumba program’s moves is a safe and effective way for kids to get moving. Watch your child’s energy and fitness level soar.  “Zumbatomic/Cheer” runs from July 14 to July 17.

Sherry Carradine is hoping to bring the wonderful world of computers to young people by offering two different courses. One will be a class for first to second graders entitled “ENTER Computers,” which focuses on learning the basics of computers, including what makes up a PC, Microsoft Windows and various applications they should know. The other class, which is for third through fifth grade kids, focuses specifically on “Fun with Microsoft Office” and will include overviews not just of Word, but all the other programs that can assist people in making everything from greeting cards to presentations to charts. “ENTER Computers” begins July 7 and ends July 10. “Fun with Microsoft Office” starts July 14 and ends July 17.

Lights. Camera. Action. Become a future Hollywood director here at Co-Lin by taking our movie making class. Young people will learn how to make their own films simply using tools already to them. Learn how to use smart phones to record video and audio, edit video and audio on a computer, and put together a finished film. When your child goes on to win the Oscar, you can say they got their start right here. This class for third through fifth graders starts June 9 and ends June 12

All classes run Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to noon with a snack time in the middle.

Kids must bring either their own food or money for use at our vending machines.
