FERRIDAY — Services for Gertrude Booker Barber, 72, of Ferriday, who died Monday, May 19, 2014, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Patrick Catholic Church.

Burial will follow in Consuella Cemetery on Lake St. John under the direction of Tennant’s Fu neral Home Inc in Rayville.

Visitation will be from 5 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Ms. Barber was born Nov. 3, 1941, in Natchez, the daughter of Runie Fleming and adoptive parents, Booker and Gertrude Barber.

She was a teacher for 49 years in both Vidalia and Ferriday School Systems.

She was loved by her students and co-workers.

Our beloved sister and friend will be missed, she will live on in our hearts and memories forever.

Ms. Barber was preceded in death by her parents; grandmother, Sophie Fleming; two brothers, and one nephew.
