FERRIDAY — Services for Elbert Milbert McAllister, 65, of Ferriday, who died Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at Riverland Medical Center, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Young’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Brian McAllister officiating.
Burial will follow in Wilbanks Cemetery in Summerville under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. McAllister was born Aug. 28, 1948, in Ferriday, the son of Richard Barrod McAllister and Hattie Naff McAllister.
He was a resident of Ferriday and a equipment operator for Concordia Parish. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
Mr. McAllister was preceded in death by his parents; one infant son, Richard Lawrence McAllister; one brother, Charles McAllister; and two sisters, Allie McAllister and Ruth McAllister.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Debbie McAllister; two sons, Kevin McAllister and Darren McAllister and wife, Beth, all of Ferriday; two grandson, Mitchell Cross and Hayden McAllister; one granddaughter, Carlee McAllister; four brothers, Wesley McAllister, Jimmy McAllister, Robert McAllister and Huey McAllister; four sisters, Leila Cockerham, Ethel Addison, Kathy Carroll and Betty Jean Courville; and a number of nephews and nieces.
