FERRIDAY — Services for David “Davey” Carroll Cobb Jr., 37, of Vidalia, who died Monday, May 19, 2014, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Young’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Mark Richardson, chaplain of the Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office, officiating.
Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Cobb was born Sept. 28, 1976, the son of David Carroll Cobb Sr. and Linda Painter.
He was a resident of Vidalia. He started working with Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office in July 2000 as a corrections officer. He then moved to dispatch and later became the Concordia Communications 911 Director.
Mr. Cobb was preceded in death by his two grandfathers, M.C. Cobb and W.A. Breithaupt; and one uncle, Larry Breithaupt.
Survivors include his father, David Carroll Cobb Sr. and wife, Marlene; his mother, Linda Painter and husband, Rickie, of Jonesville; two grandmothers, Lille Cobb and Helen Aiguier; one uncle, Walter Breithaupt and wife, Lela; three aunts, Janis Jennings and husband, R.W., Pat Ketchum and Janet Carden and husband, Larry; and godmother, Frances McManus.
Pallbearers will be Frankie Carroll, Mike Clark, Wayne Gilmore, Nolen Cothern, Bruce Wiley and John Mitchell.
Honorary pallbearers will be Sheriff Kenneth Hedrick and members of the Concordia Parish Sheriff’s office.
