LaFrancis nominated as rookie nurse of the year

NATCHEZ — Mary M. LaFrancis of Brandon recently was nominated for rookie nurse of the year by the Mississippi Nurses Association.
Previously, she was selected as rookie nurse of the year at Baptist Hospital in Jackson where she works as a registered nurse in the intensive care unit. She also worked in the hospital’s adult oncology department.
“Mary is a dedicated oncology nurse and a valued addition to our unit,” Baptist Nurse Manager Sharon Busby said. “Mary’s commitment to customer service and teamwork sets the standard we should all strive to attain. I look forward to each day working with Mary. She’s consistently receiving praise from our patients and their families. She is a fantastic nurse, and we all love working with her.”
A native of Natchez, LaFrancis is a 2010 graduate of Copiah-Lincoln Community College’s Wesson campus and a 2012 graduate of Alcorn State University’s School of Nursing. She is a graduate of Cathedral High School in Natchez. She is the daughter of G. Mark LaFrancis and Eileen M. Maher of Natchez.
