VIDALIA — Services for Mamie-Audrey Maybeline Forbess, 68, of Natchez, who died Thursday, May 15, 2014, at her residence, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church in Vidalia with the Rev. Bill McCullin officiating.
Burial will follow in Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Monday at the church.
Ms. Forbess was born Dec. 10, 1945, in Brookhaven, the daughter of Alfred Baker and Pauline Cannon Baker.
She was a self taught interior designer. She established her own business, Mamie’s Custom Blinds and Awnings.
Her work can be seen and enjoyed in various awnings, draperies and blinds throughout downtown Natchez businesses.
Her creativity is also reflected in many local antebellum and residential homes in Natchez and surrounding towns.
Survivors include three sons, Clarence Edward Forbess and wife, Kim, Jessie Wayne Forbess and wife, Misty, and Troy Ray; companion and friend, James Kent Allgood; two sisters, Shirley Fernandez and husband, Isidoro, and Ava Jo Collett and husband, Doug; three grandchildren, many nephews, nieces and other relatives.
Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be family members and long time friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the First Baptist Church of Vidalia.
