Benefit helps spay-neuter program

On Tuesday, there will be a benefit for a cause close to my heart, which is spay and neuter.

The fourth annual “Spay-ghetti & No Balls Lunch” will help raise money for Natchez and surrounding areas to continue to participate in the voucher program offered through Mississippi Spay and Neuter.

These vouchers provide a reduced cost co-pay which helps with the cost of spay or neuter surgery for your pet or pets.

The “Spay-ghetti & No Balls Lunch” has done well in the past three years and has helped more than 600 animals in the Natchez area to be spayed or neutered. Having your pet fixed greatly helps prevent pet overpopulation and literally saves the life of hundreds of animals. This also helps reduce the number of animals being brought in to our shelter and left hoping to find a loving home. Spaying or neutering your pet is very important in helping prevent future medical problems, which can arise when a pet has not been fixed.

The fourth annual “Spay-ghetti and No Balls Lunch” will be Tuesday at the Natchez Community Center from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Plates are $10 and will include spaghetti with Al Strickland’s marinara, French bread, dessert and a Coke beverage. Tickets are being sold in advance, so please call 601-597-2117 if you would like to purchase a plate.

We are very thankful for the many volunteers helping put the lunch together and also for each of our sponsors which include, Smith Printing, Blankenstein’s, Pearl St. Pasta, Lil Dago’s Cafe, Sysco, Slick Rick’s, Natchez Market, Coke and Dunleith.

Donations are welcome. If you are unable to purchase a plate, but are interested in helping residents in the Natchez area to spay or neuter their pet or pets, you may send a tax-deductible donation to Mississippi Spay & Neuter, 100 Business Center Parkway, Suite B, Pearl, MS  39208. Please write “Natchez Fund” in the memo section on your check.

We truly appreciate your support of the fourth annual “Spay-ghetti & No Balls Lunch.”
