NATCHEZ — Memorial services for Joseph Richardson, 70, of Natchez, who died Monday, May 5, 2014, in Natchez, will be at 6 p.m. today at West Gate Funeral Home.
Burial will be Thursday in Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.
Mr. Richardson was born April 1, 1944, in Natchez, the son of Henry F. and Gertude Hayes Richardson.
He completed high school in the military and received his associate of arts degree from Natchez Jr. College.
He retired from Armstrong Tire and Rubber Company.
He was a Baptist and a former choir member. He enjoyed singing and listening to gospel music.
Mr. Richardson was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Henry F. Richardson Jr.; and son-in-law, Eric L. Burkes.
Survivors include his daughter, Lillie Richardson Burkes; one brother, Raymond Richardson of Oakland; two sisters, Ella Knight and husband, John, and Mary Granger and husband, David; three granddaughters, Adrianna Ward, Kiara Burkes and Erika Burkes; two nephews, Jonathan Knight and David Paul Granger Jr.; two nieces, Kimberly Granger and Miracle Murray; two great nieces, Jordan Murray and Makayla Murray; former wife, Margaret Granger Richardson; and other relatives and friends.
