Join NGC for annual flower show

Finally, the warm days of summer are around the corner.
Why not start out the new and upcoming season with an afternoon of flowers and beauty with the Natchez Garden Club?
The members of the Natchez Garden Club would like to invite everyone to stop by Monmouth Plantation located on the corner of Melrose Avenue and John A. Quitman Avenue from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday to tour through the house, which will be bedecked with gorgeous arrangements and décor for this year’s flower show.
This year’s event follows a theme of “A Garden Wedding” with events titled “Pearls are a Girl’s Best Friend” and “Hey There, Big Spender.”
This year’s event is chaired by Mrs. Brenda Edgin and Ms. Sharon Sharp with the help of Mrs. Kay Taylor.
Each of these ladies believes that this flower show will be a real treat for everyone, especially those involved in the competition.
With the newest members of the garden club taking the reins of the décor and arrangements at this year’s show, the possibilities are endless for new and interesting tablescapes and more.
Thankfully, there are still a few spots available for you to enter your own designs.
Give the Natchez Garden Club office a call at 601-443-9065 to find out what is available.
If you are worried about what you want to create, don’t worry.
There is a workshop scheduled at 6 p.m. tonight at Moreton’s Flowerland.
With Brenda Zerby’s help, you will be at ease with your design and selection just in time for Saturday’s Flower Show.
While this is not my first adventure into the world of horticulture and the meticulous art of floral arrangements, I am excited to learn something new and take part in this event.
Hopefully, each of you will take a break from your busy weekends to join the members of the Natchez Garden Club and take some time to stop and smell the roses.
