NATCHEZ — Services for Torothea Claudette Blanton, 70, of Natchez, who died Sunday, April 27, 2014, in Natchez, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at West Gate Funeral Home with the Rev. Melvin White officiating.
Services will be under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.
Mrs. Blanton was born Aug. 28, 1943, in Maryland, the daughter of Charles A. Weaver and Dorothea Osmond.
Mrs. Blanton was a member of Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church.
She graduated with an associate degree. She was a surgical and physician’s assistant and was retired form Group Health Hospital.
Her hobbies included sewing. She had a love of animals and caring for people and animals in need.
Mrs. Blanton was preceded in death by her parents, Mildred Jaworski, Marchia Ratliff, Samuel Weaver and Joyana Laradia Weaver.
Survivors include her husband, Willie Blanton; one son, Arthur Blanton; three daughters, Nicole Blanton, Sandra Blanton and Sonya Blanton; two brothers, David Weaver and William Weaver; and two sisters, Omaralina Weaver and Gloria “Bunny” Oneta Tannehill.
