NATCHEZ — Services for Margarette Mosby, 64, of Gallatin, Tenn.; who died Friday, May 3, 2014, at her residence, will be at noon Friday at St. Mary Baptist Church.

Burial will follow in St. Mary Memorial Gardens under the direction of Bateaste Memorial Funeral Home.05:08 Margarette Mosby obitpic

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to noon Friday at the church.

Mrs. Mosby was born Nov. 17, 1949, in Natchez, the daughter of Philip Mosby Sr. and Elise Smith.

She was also raised by her stepfather, James V. Smith.

Mrs. Mosby was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Michael Mosby; one sister, Willie Mae Johnson; a dear friend, Sarah Bridges.

Survivors include her daughter, Lisa Anneka Mosby; granddaughter, Jalissa R. M. Tyson and husband, Trevon; one grandson, Malik McMurray; great granddaughter, Lauren Von; all of Gallatin, Tenn; four brothers, Phillip Mosby Jr. and wife, Ernestine, of Jackson, James Mosby and wife, Linda, of Boulder, Colo., Excel Mosby and wife, Annie, of Dallas, and Glen Mosby and wife, Alice, of Jackson; two sisters, Lillie Mae Mosby of Natchez and Delores Martin and husband, Leonard, of Harbor City, Calif.; best friends, Jeanette Cromwell and Fressie “Sue” Johnson; and a number of wonderful nephews, nieces and other relatives and friends.
