NATCHEZ — Services for Jerome Blanton, 40, of Natchez, who died Thursday, April 24, 2014, at his residence, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Forest Aid Baptist Church with the Rev. Michelle Brooks officiating.

Burial will follow in Grove African Methodist Episcopal Church Cemetery under the direction of Bateaste Memorial Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Blanton was born July 29, 1973, in Natchez, the son of Issac Henry Phipps and Shirley Blanton.

Mr. Blanton attended Natchez High School and was a roofer.

He was of the Methodist faith.

Mr. Blanton was preceded in death by his father; maternal grandparents Leo and Emma Blanton; paternal grandparents, Otis and Edna Phipps; and one sister, Yolanda Phipps.

Survivors include his lovely mother; stepmother, Betty Phipps; one son, Jerome Blanton, one daughter, Jeromesha Blanton, four brothers, Wayne Phipps, Michael Blanton and wife, Kila, Leo Blanton and wife, Jennifer and James Blanton; four sisters, Angelia, Decarla Phipps, Kendra Phipps and Debra Brown; special friend, LaKenya Givens; God-sister, Ashley White; two uncles; 10 aunts; and a number of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
