NATCHEZ — Services for Lee Edward “Dickey” Sims Sr., 66, of Roxie, who died Saturday, April 12, 2014, in Ferriday, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at McNeely Church of God with the Rev. Brian Monechan officiating.
Burial will follow in Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until service time Friday both at the church.
Mr. Sims was born Nov. 14, 1947, in Bude, the son of Hardy Washington and Lessie Mae Stamps.
He enlisted in U.S. Army and the U.S. Airforce National Guard.
Mr. Sims was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Anthony Sims; and one brother, Eddie Sims.
Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Gwendolyn Sims; one son, Lee Edward Sims and wife, Renesha; one daughter, Cissy Barnett and husband, Kwame Atuanor; one step-daughter, Crystal Plummer; three brothers, Leroy King, Arthur Sims and Ulyless Hines; four sisters, Rosie Fox, Birdie Mae Washington, Doris Fleming and Felicia Williams; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one daughter-in-law, Kimberly Sims; loving and devoted mother-in-law, Erma Skinner; three brothers-in-law, Roy Johnson, Lehnman Johnson and Prince Broom; and a number of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends, whom he loved dearly.
